The places you choose to fight
Angry, defiant, raging against your reality. This is the one within you that starts war.
The part of you capable of burning down cities and raging wars against those you love.
They are the part of you that you deny, push away, pretend does not live there within you. They are your darkness. They dwell in the shallow waters of your being.
They ride up on the back of your righteous ego.
They feel you deserve more.
They lurk in the thoughts and emotions that keep you small.
They are the face of war.
The part of us that will kill in the name of our beliefs.
They are who we must hold lovingly in our hearts when we see them hurt the ones we love. For they only live and breathe on our unlove. They can only survive when we have forgotten to love.
Then there is the soft one. The one that moves like liquid. Glides on each step, floats on light. They are tender. This one comes when you ask for help. They come when you fill your lungs with a conscious breath. They live there beside the wicked.
The one that sees as an owl able to look from all perspectives.
Heart is their language and tongue.
Able to withstand storms, the difficult experiences you face. The things that you want to fight. And they cradle them. They swaddle them in unconditional love. Over and over again they love all. They are bottomless. They live in your deepest depths. This one is your greatest ally. The loving one you can choose to embody, to call forth as you navigate your life. They live there beside the wicked. They are shelved beside the one that wars.
Are you calling forth the warrior, to rise up on your contempt?
With one conscious breath inward they will fall. You have the power to call the soft one into form.
You can choose.
It is up to you. If you feel lost in the sea of raging thoughts and waves, they are there I promise you. They serve where the other severs. They heal where the other wounds. It takes great strength to choose them when you are in the fire.
It is your choice.
I know that a part of us enjoys the fighting, arguably more than the peace. Such intensity and emotion. Weak in root but alluring in force.
The gentle force of the other is much less intense. One you need to drop down into.
A choice to make.
The soft one is your essence. It is the current. The heart of your most pure and gentle self.
After all we experience and go through, we always return to this breath. The serene current of our truth is rising within us. Every moment we are alive.
Take a moment to reflect on all of the times you forgot this softness inside of you.
Notice all of the places you choose to fight, instead of resting here in your divine source.
Anger and warring show us we are afraid. They show us we are trying to protect our vulnerability. Your walls are there to stop you from feeling. To distract you from hurt. But returning to your nature is the only thing that will set you free. The only thing that will feed your life in the ways it is asking.
Resist the reflex of protection. Your heart needs you to not be afraid any longer.
It will heal your anger, your wars. It will save your world. Your life.
It will replenish all that aches within you.
Beware all war.
All large or small thoughts in the quiet of your mind.
In the language you speak to yourself.
And to your body.
Beware the way you treat even the smallest of discomforts.
Fight long and hard enough and you will start to see that the war starts within you.
It stops any chance for harmony or well-being.
Can’t you see how much love you can create for yourself? How powerful you are?
Breathe the soft one within you awake. The world within and around needs you to be them.
Nothing will suffer more than you if you continue to choose war.
