What have you abandoned?

What are you doing inside yourself? Let’s forget about who we have our weapons pointed at. If we persist with fighting, we’re just creating separation. With others of course, but more profoundly within ourselves. It’s just wasted energy, a diversion from your most important pursuit, and a barrier to accessing your true art. Feel the lightness of lowering your sights and laying down your arms. Feel how your jaw relaxes and your shoulders let go. The inner pathways open up. They have to be open. Stop forcing, stop fighting.

The ultimate mystery that we all try to solve lies beyond the range of wilful thinking. When we see we have given it a thought we have started to fall short. What we need and want must come from us not the machine and not from the government or media or whichever system is teaching us. Notice whether you are thinking your happiness will come from those sources. It has to come from our own inside, and the minute we let that drop and take whatever dictation of the time is instead of the dictation of our own eternity, we have capitulated to the man, to the devil. And then we’re rolling down a slippery slope I’m afraid to a self-imposed prison, to hell in fact. Liberation lost.

So how can you tell? False art, from improper purpose, makes you or others desire something, (or loathe it) once you’ve experienced it.  Art from true purpose has a centre, a thread of silence going down the middle of it. When you are finished, you’re at the centre of yourself, and still, at peace. Art from this place will talk to everyone right up and down the line. It will pass a simple naturalistic interpretation to a highly sophisticated one without a break, without reinterpretation. This truth is undeniable, and will be irresistible, it is eternal.

You’ve experienced it from others, and that is how you will be able to tell for yourself.

When you get yourself off course or you accept some moral principle that is altogether cockeyed and related to something that isn’t natural at all, dismiss it and follow the irresistible again.

And the eternal is not touched by time. The endeavour of the purpose, of your art, is therefore the joy and the most important thing. The approach not the outcome. The outcome will be fine whatever if created from this place.

So as you take the burden off and open your inner pathways, that sorrow you start to feel inside yourself, for what you have abandoned, that is your seed.

Andrew.
